WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

A direct quote:
<<I really don't want to see 5 sets of some unshaven, disgustingly hairy, sweaty oaf, dressed in a cross between 19th century underwear and a clowns outfit, scratching their crotch, spitting, blowing snot out of the nose onto the court, etc.
They must shorten the matches like they did for the doubles!

What do you think?

Don't agree. The unshaven snot-slinging clowns produce tennis that's actually exciting to watch.

Time for Pimms...

I am happy to shorten matches.
If we can eliminate WTA. Is that so wrong?

Re: WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

I was watching the Ginepri-Haas match and Macatee announced that JHH and Peer would be coming right up....

Fifteen minutes into the Ginepri-Haas match, Macatee announced that JHH just won the first set vs Peer 6-1....

Women's tennis blows ass in the early rounds. No network should show any of their matches until the quarterfinals and even that's questionable entertainment.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

Re: WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

I'm happy to watch women's tennis but tactically it is usually inferior - most of the female players have no idea how to use slice effectively, rarely employ dropshots, lobs, or in short, any tactics beyond hitting the ball as hard as they can. If it hits, it looks spectacular, and if it misses (as it does more often) it looks horrible. There's very few players who have any concept of playing percentage tennis, or having a Plan B and trying to change a losing formula.

Re: WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

they would rather see little princess's win 0 and 1 or 0 and 0 as i seen from a Davenport match, than real tennis.
long matches show you the real pro's, Wta is for wimps.

Re: WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

Tangy, Sugiyama taking a set off the second seed is not boring tennis, and this isn't even biased. I find it exciting.

I love both the ATP and the WTA, and, well, I find them both exciting.

I adore best of 5 set matches, though, and they're only complaining because they have to wait longer to see their favorite play - which is really stupid. If I have to wait until four, I'll wait.

Re: WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

Serena and her waving after the win.
Mauresmo is now celebrating like Nadal with that run and jump annoyng thingy.
Sharapova screaming like a banshee.
Henin and her "allez" after every f'en point she wins.

WTA is annoying me lately now that i think about it.

not enough Ivanovic, Kirilenko, Harkelroad, Mirza action
the pretties sucked this year

Also wtaworld fans are upset that CBS or Usa did not show Serena's match yesterday.. Thanks to Roddick and Verdasco.

I partially agree with your statement. But most women's matches are one sided. Some of them ie last years wimby Finals and this years wimby finals are exciting. But most of early round matches are one sided.

Re: WTAworld complaining about Men's matches

There was a time, some years ago, when I watched women's tennis. In the meanwhile I only watch women's tennis, when I have to, because of combined tournaments. What I hate about the women's tennis is, that they are not able to finish a match when they have the possibility to do that. In 90% of the matches I could bet (if I did) that the "winner" can't finish the match.....

Vamos Nando! Come on Andy! A portuguese Vamos to André Sá e Marcelo Melo! Vamos Gastão!Auf geht's Dustin! Vamos ChristianLindell!Vamos David! Pojd Tomáš! Davai Dolgo!
