Nadal squeeks past Moodie 6-4 7-6 7-6

Not at all good performance by Nadal. Should have been so much easier than it was. Very long match for a straight sets win.

Isn't that typical Nadal? How many quick matches does he play?

2 hrs 49 mins for this match is a joke. Nadal took so long on some points. Ridiculous at times.

Moodie's net play was very poor in the first two sets today, especially for the standards of a S&Ver.

Gosh, those stats must be really deceiving because I cannot see how 46 winners and only 16 unforced errors is a bad performance, plus Moodie plays the right game to bother Nadal. He took too long, as usual but still won in straight sets.

Well, comapred to an Agassi match it was really fast!
Well, it wasn't bad at all as much as I saw of it. Only 4 UEs in the 1st set is already something! And having lost only 4 points on serve till the midway of the 2nd set. Not the best Rafa but he still got through in straights! The aim is to peak next week anyway.

Thats true, Looking at the stats you would not think that he played badly. We all know that Nadal takes his time and there is not much he will do to change it.

Go Federer, Nadal!!!

And in a surprising twist of events, the first few posts in a Nadal win thread are negatives by Fedtards about how long he took, why his opponent choked and how he should have lost.

With the kind of game Moodie has, this isn't any worse than I expected. I figured Nadal might have a few problems, so I think he did all right

My post wasn't negative. It's a fact. His matches do take forever whether he wins in straights or not. So I'm not surprised this one took forever too. As far as how he played I didn't watch so I wouldn't know.

Agreed. Kendrick was a S&V'er and he took Nadal to 5 sets, so this is ok I suppose. He's beat his best performance anyway, and shouldn't have too many problems until the quarters.

Re: Nadal squeeks past Moodie 6-4 7-6 7-6

I watched the match, and thought moodie played particularly poor at the net for a so called 'serve & volleyer'. He also had plenty of chances (2 set points), but wasn't able to convert, going for stupid winners.

Re: Nadal squeeks past Moodie 6-4 7-6 7-6

well, from what i have seen, nadal played quite good on his own service games,
the real problem is he cannot convert those breakpoints.... and a lot of deuce in some of moodie's service games makes a long match....

anyway

next, novak....

vamos rafa!!!!!!
