I think they should build a gigantic clear sound proof dome over the entire grounds, with airholes on the sides and air compressors to the outside world. This way, people can breathe, the rain is stopped, and no one can hear airplanes flying overhead

It will need to be done in the future I think, trouble is the Ashe stadium is so enormous they'd probably need to build a new court to go with it - unlike say Centre Court at Wimbledon which is easily the smallest of the four Slams. The US Open has actually beaten Wimbledon into second place in the last few years for the most rain-affected Slam. The irony is that the one major with retractable roofs is also the one that suffers the least from rain, although it does still happen in Australia.

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

That's one of those great ideas you have as a kid that doesn't work out in real life. How about a forcefield to deflect the rain into Manhattan?

How about we eliminate the water cycle?

true...they just need to learn how to close it faster or recognize when there will be a chance of rain.

As I stated before, builidng a roof will never happen. Why? Because 1) you're dipping into taxpayer money and most could give a shit about the US Open, especially when 2) taxpayer money is going into building the new Nets arena in Brooklyn that people don't want either.

If they were serious, each slam should have one covered court.
at least.

-we have weather.

So, I guess the solution is to have NASA run the event instead of the USTA and on the moon instead of in Queens.

At least there won't be any Europeans around.

C'mon, Lleyton!

Slams should always be outdoors.
