So, last week I had the chance to talk with Kamil Majchrzak, #277 in the rankings and the guy who defeated Florian Mayer in Davis Cup today. We had quite a long chat and we talked about tons of topics, specially the struggle of those players who wonder around the Challenger/Futures circuit, how hard it's to work your way through a country with zero tennis tradition... I do hope you guys enjoy it, it's actually my first interview ever but I moulded it and now it looks like sort of an article. Any feedback/opinion/constructive criticism is welcomed as always. Cheers
Thank you so much guys for taking your time to read this and all the good feedback I've received so far, I really appreciate it :smile2:
Yes, big Real Madrid fan! And ofc you just have to love Luka Modric, amazing genius and the best playmaker in the game right now, always an utter delight to watch him play
Actually I asked him few days before the interview about the young guns and who is the player that he saw as a potential GS winner. He's actually very impressed by Rublev's groundstrokes and he believes he has the ability and skills to win a Slam in the future, but at the same time acknowledges he must work on his physical condition. In the Nanjing tournament, for example, Andrey ran out of gas (IIRC) in the semifinal match, both have had a good rivalry in the juniors and they're good friends so maybe he was a bit biased but I agree, Rublev just needs to bulk up physically and improve his whiny on court behaviour.
I remember a former Argentinian Olympic coach telling me that you really need to be ranked 130 or better to make a living at it.
