Apart from being injured, Gasquet hasn't done much damage on hardcourts this year, so it was pretty much expected.
Even if he managed to win here, he would have gone out in R2 at the latest.
Not like Edmund is going to capitalise on this win and go any further in the tournament. However a win is a win and im sure he must be very proud of himself.
Well he beat Escobedo in a hard court Challenger last year so with this current form he ought to be able to win that round. Reaching R4 would be trickier, although Tiafoe could open a path if he completes the upset over Isner (3-2 in the fifth right now).
I thought he had great chance to win this match but never expected it to be a complete beatdown, he'll be favourite to win his next match aswell, so a big chance to climb the rankings.
Good one. How Gasquet is still so high in rank is unbelievable.
