Nadal had some interesting comments to say about Nishikori's behaviour during their Olympics Bronze medal match. Discuss.

It was the bronze final mate.

He's of course right, it wasn't great from Kei. Rumours has it that he even took a shower during that break

But Nadal may not even think about casting the first stone. Profited from a few MTOs and breaks here and there too

Very humble.

Clear insult to Djokovic by singling out RG and Wimbledon as tournaments he'd like to win, but not the Australian Open (his omission of the US Open must be an attempt to foreshadow his immanent withdrawal).
No chance of withdrawal, as he's looking for MORE tennis, not less-
“The wrist is still the same,” he said. “With more rest, the wrist will not go better. The wrist needs to adapt again to the game; needs to adapt again to hit the ball.

that is total nonsense of course.

but if you repeat it enough times, you are sure to believe it.

rafa has had to earn everything he has achieved the hard way. with immense amount of hard work and a limited game. that is the most demanding style of play in the history of mankind.

we just cant get him to work hard now and hence the dramatic decline.

Coming from him who keeps cheating left and right.

Sit down Cheatdal

lol, from the guy who took a bathroom break with Federer serving for the match at IW 2012.

here is how I look at this:

least fit of the two was Rafa. Rafa was also worn out from all that doubles activity.

so he got a chance to rest a little. why make a big deal out of it.

just let your bloody racquet do the talking out there.

I saw the highlights. nishikori was the better player and the better player won.

end of story.

rafa has work to do and that is what he needs to be doing.

Yep, it maybe funny in Nadal's mouth but still it doesn't change the fact he's right.

If Nadal or Djokovic did what Nishikori did in that bronze match, MTF would implode. But since it's Kei nobody bats an eye.

Because Kei is not known as cheater. If he does it often as Nadal, Djokovic or Raonic now then Kei is like them. But Kei does it once in 5 years it does not make him cheater. Plus he played a lot this year while Nadal got a rest. Whether he did it in Final of BO3 for BM or in F of GS or MS it does not matter. Kei is human and he has his needs. Raonic did the same TWICE at Wimbledon against Goffin and Federer in SF but no one makes a noise. In fact Raonic did take 10 mins toilet breaks at AO in SF vs Murray, in Brisbane Final, in Final of IW and now in Cincy against #100+ because he lost 2nd set. That is what i call cheater .

To be honest, he's 100% correct.

I was surprised there wasn't a larger, and more adequate, backlash against Nishikori for the stunt he pulled. A 12-minute bathroom break to regroup after choking the bronze medal - allegedly during which he even had the audacity to take a shower - is borderline cheating. Even if within the rules, it's disgraceful and blatant. If I was Rafa and Team Spain, I'd be furious too.

The 10 year anniversary of "that was very bad... very bad" is only a couple of months away :worship:
