Re: Who is the best player in the history

I think it's Borg.

But there are very strong cases for Sampras and Laver as well, and it's hard to argue with those too.

Definitely one of those three though.

Re: Who is the best player in the history

Who in Sampras' time really troubled him? And is it really that impressive to just win the same tournament a billion times? I like Sampras and I agree that he was a great player, but I think Laver was better.

A few guys, but they either were constantly injured, disinterested, or head cases.

Re: Who is the best player in the history

How can you compare someone like Laver and Sampras when they played 40 years apart.
It is impossible to tell

Re: Who is the best player in the history

Ken Rosewall ... couldn't play the Grand Slams for 11 years (that's 44 Slams he missed during his peak years) and yet he still won 8 Grand Slam singles titles.

He won 4 before he turned pro in 1957 (age 23) and won 4 more after being able to return to the tour in 1968 (at the age of 34). He also won a heap of World Pro Championships (against the true best players in the world during the 60s - Laver, Gonzales et all).

Borg for winning RG and Wimbledon in the same year.

Maybe Sampras took over from me and now Federer will take over from Sampras - Edberg

sampras

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Epic movies, like brokeback mountain, are seldom found in the industry or worthy for the mainstream viewer. As often as I have watched the clips of this movie, I always find something more to it. For one, the gay stuff doesn't enter the picture for me, only the dimension of the highest love I have ever witnessed in life or on film.
