Inverdale, out of nowhere in the middle of a game in the Anderson match: "Now this is interesting John, I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, and, well it's not all set up yet and there's still stuff to be sorted out, but, and this is very interesting I think, there has been talk, according to a friend of mine, who's pretty sure about this but it's not 100% yet, that ... they're thinking of building an indoor golf course in China."

Peter Fleming could easily have been in trouble if more people actually watched tennis.

In a brief discussion about the Kazakhstan Davis Cup team he asked if Borat was the Captain. Also when a latecomer struggled to find his seat at one stage he jokingly said the person should be taken out and shot.

Now, all the above made me laugh but this is the Beeb. Team Offended would have been all over Ofcom this if they knew.

I wish to goodness they would get rid of Castle and Lloyd on Andy's matches. Their gushing might be a bit less nauseous if you don't know how the pair of them used to put him down and criticise everything about him a few years ago - maybe a bit less, but not much. And that's from a big Andy fan!

Superb overhaul of the highlights show tonight. Instead of that old staid format of two pundits sitting behind a desk talking about the day's matches, we now have two pundits standing uncomfortably at a table for an hour talking about the day's matches, while a crowd they managed to round up stares at them vacantly. And very clever, rebranding Today at Wimbledon to Wimbledon 2Today - adds that urban, contemporary vibe we were all looking for from a sports highlight show.

You know, watching Claire Balding introduce You've Been Aced footage of delightful toddlers swishing racquets around, inviting viewers to text in to the show because of course we are as important as the players (no, we're not), I almost missed John Inverdale. Almost.

Mac seemed to be enjoying himself, though. A new format that involves putting dozens more people in the studio and he somehow ends up talking even more than normal.

Yeah, I had been meaning to post similar^ The rebranding is so gross and cheap. Like all of Claire Balding's shows, funnily enough.
I take back everything I said about the previous presenter. I'm sorry, Invers, all is forgiven. I'd have Today at Wimbledon back with the main man in the hotseat any day. We didn't appreciate him while we had him, and now we're paying the price.

McEnroe's resent for what Dreddy was doing to his bull yesterday has to go down on record. Was so obvious that he was sulking  Seem to remember some nonsense about wanting more time between points as well!

McEnroe on Stan today: "He's an absolute bull. Every muscle in his body seems like it's bulging."

Sounds like JMac's going to be buying the Body Issue. ;)

I read somewhere on the net that during Brown vs. Nadal a commentator said something like 'I hope he doesn't start thinking for his own sake' after being 2 sets and a break up in 4th.
Now who the hell was this completely clueless nut job?

He said it after Brown left the court in the set changeover after winning set 3. He meant it like "don't get in your head during the break, Brown, you're doing great so far, don't overthink and get nervous and change things". Badly phrased, perhaps, but meant well.

As for who it was, I'm really bad with voices I don't know well, but I believe it was either Castle or McEnroe in that broadcast team, and if I had to guess I'd say Castle (I think I'd remember if it was McEnroe).

John Mugenroe (A known Dull-tard): "This is the turning point of the match." After Dull flukes a break in second!

In the post match commentary I think he was about to say that Brown just defeated the undisputedly greatest player of all time.

I think he was about to say it because he adjusted it, 'negatively', to undisputedly one of the all time greats, so there's not really anything else he could have been trying to say at first.

thing with McEnroe loving Nadal is its actually very easy to understand, Nadal is everything McEnroe was not, baseline beast, huge physical presence, monster at RG. McEnroe will feel (in some ways understandably) that to him Federer is not as special (both a mu, Nadal is much harder to comprehend as he is so far removed from McEnroe's game.

McEnroe's favourite player is actually Djokovic - though I can understand why some think it is Nadal as he always goes overboard with superlatives when the Spaniard is playing. Anyway, he explained why Djoker is his favourite at a pre-US Open NYT forum a few years ago and he's come close to saying it on the air - when he isn't supposed to be biased! - a couple of times since, including the other day on ESPN. McEnroe and Djokovic also get along well off the court whereas his relationship with Nadal and Federer is strictly professional. (Becker's presence probably helps too. This time last year the McEnroe bros were watching the USA at the World Cup at Boris's place in England).

Some of the horrible bias shown by the commentators yesterday. Seppi takes a MTO it's gamesmanship to change match momentum. Murray takes a MTO 30 mins later and it's a genuine injury.

That was Andrew Castle showing his vintage self. BS self I should say.

Some of the bias and double standards are truly awful. That is why if Novak can't win my stance is, anyone else but Murray. Not because of Murray btw, think he's a nice guy. But the media and the public will be awful to listen to.

Haha :D. I guess inverdale might prefer if you could just walk to the service line and serve from there.

Inverdale is a complete fool. It was fun to hear him getting owned by Fleming several times today.
