Re: Commentary at its best

Truth be told, part of me was a little sad that Stepanek was out of the tournament. Who knows what else Goodall & Co. would have come up with!

Re: Commentary at its best

Koening is a clown, as for Stepanek he is just all class.

Goodall during the Berdych and Davydenko match.

Neil the other English guy was talking about the fixing allegations with Dayvdenko, saying that he gave press conferences in broken English, then Goodall said it's not broken English, it's 'shattered English".

Though I do think Goodall's Russian isn't as good as PMK's English.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

one of the commentators on atpmstv during the nadal-davy match, talking about rafa:
"I bet when he gets up in the morning and brushes his teeth, he gives it 101 percent."

Jason-the-Perv, re roddick's between-the-legs shot: "His fiancee had her heart in her mouth for a second."

I hope poor Jase gets some trim over the offseason

Re: Commentary at its best

Koening going on about Simon qualifying for Casablanca and winning the title.

He forgets that Simon only played qualies because he didn't enter by the deadline and was refused a wildcard, not that his ranking was too low.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Commentary at its best

talking about simon variety in the game.

Koenig: variety is so underrated, their are so many kids that are ballbashers nowsdays.

Goodall: is that a technical term...

Re: Commentary at its best

Koening spends too much time here.

Justin Gimelstob is a fucking moron. I'm watching the Federer-Simon match right now on FSN and after Federer hit a 2nd serve ace to win the first set, Gimelstob said that Federer was "evoking the GHOST of Pistol Pete".

I didn't know that Sampras was dead.

Re: Commentary at its best

Koenig called Federer the world #1 again during his match with Simon, the weird thing is that Goodall remained silent and didn't correct him at all

Re: Commentary at its best

Goodall and Koening being smoking bamboo.

Davydenko has a poor record in the majors, that's funny to say the least.

http://www.atptennis.com/5/en/player...S&prevtrnnum=0

He has made the quarters at least once at RG, US Open and the Aus Open. James Blake has a poor record at GS level, Calleri has a poor record, but not Davydenko.

RG semis losing to Puerta and Federer.
US Open semis losing to Federer twice
Aus Open QFs losing to Federer, Haas and Roddick

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Commentary at its best

I like Mark Petchey a lot, he's one of the best commentators but I do wish he wouldn't mention that Gil Reyes interview he did a few years back at the US Open. He crowbarred it into conversation again yesterday. Every answer Gil Reyes gave was like something from a Hallmark card.

Yeah, I heard that and I thought, what are they talking about? I can only assume they meant this year alone, where he hasn't been past the 4th round at any of the majors.
