Nobody should have to suffer Luke Jensen with a microphone - it's cruel and unusual punishment and thus outlawed by the US Constitution's Eighth Amendment.

Re: Commentary at its best

Johnny Mac during Safin-Spadea:

Tracy apparently has the rulebook and has the answer, so we are gonna get her on. She just wants to be in a Safin match, that’s all

(other commentator): "Marat will probably take a look at that rulebook at the end of this match either way.”
Johnny Mac: “Burn it “

Turns out they were Luke Jensen and Doug Adler.

I swear I will NEVER, NEVER complain about a British commentator again.

Serious.

Just unbelievable.

And now Mardy's staying back on serve. Yeah, that's why he's an all court master, Doug. He has the weapons. He does. He must be licking his chops looking at this draw. Who we got in here? Monfils? Nalbandian? He's got to be looking at them thinking he can win some matches here. No doubt Luke, he has it all. The serve - The serve. The backhand. He has the backhand, Doug. And now if he wins this tiebreak ... if he wins this tibreak that'll be a huge advantage. I can't tell you what an advantage it is to take the first set, Luke. Sometimes people don't realise what a big deal ... It's a big deal. HUGE. It's confidence. It's confidence, Doug and when your confidence is up then .. There's the set! Mardy Fish. he's got more game. You think we're looking at a Rafael Nadal body here? hahahahaha - Not like Rafa haha. You think Rafa just has that body, he works for it. Go watch this guy on the practise courts ... running ... jumping rope. He's working extra hard. He works, Doug. And there's Mardy sitting down, he'll be feeling good one set up. It's huge for his confidence. Check out other results on www.usopen.org. Who else is on there? On the website? Murphy Jensen. Hahaha, oh yeah, get the brother in! What? He's a rockstar now, he's everywhere hahaha. You'll see the difference between a player ranked what - 154? ONE FIFTY FOUR ON THE MONEY. Yeah, 154 and a guy who's a main draw player. Smeets has only won one match at this level. beat some guy ... Lukas Lacko? You know that guy? Oh sure. Good friend, he lives down the street from me hahahahahahaha. We've been courtside for ... how many? Six? Yeah six majors and have you ever seen Rafael Nadal - the bull - he's a bull, Luke, watch his match highlights on www.usopen.org - have you ever seen Rafa Nadal put his head down? Not once, Doug. Not once. Three Wimbledons, Three French opens. Never shows any negative emotion. This is the thing, that's the difference, Mardy Fish has beaten Federer. he has the firepower. He just needs to put it together now. There's a huge difference - HUGE - between being one set all and 2 up. There's a big difference, Luke. Yeah, it's huge. The Fishmeister just needs to play his game. How many matches has Smeets won at this level? Just one, Doug. Against my neighbour Lukas Lacko. hahahahaha Yeah, he lives down the street hahahaha that guy hahahaha. Come on Mardy. That's our guy. He's our guy. This is the US Open.

Tim Henman--Gael Monfils--James Blake--Donald Young--Rafael Nadal--Jo-Wilfried Tsonga--John Isner--Janko Tipsarevic--Richard Gasquet.

Re: Commentary at its best

Yesterday on Dutch Eurosport, the commentator (I think it was this Bakker guy but I'm not sure) during Fed's craptastic performance kept on claiming that Fed would have to drastically up his level of play to have any chance at defeating the defending champion - Novak Djokovic.

Way to go. I don't think Fed will have any problems at defeating last year's defending champion, actually. All he has to do is continue to play like he's done yesterday. The other fellow doesn't even need to show up!

Re: Commentary at its best

I always have HUGE laughs at every match of Marat when commentators keep talking about marat's looks. Like this last match against tommy, they kept mentioning that the reason Marat is crowd fav is because of his looks and personality etc. I think most commentators male or female have a huge crush on safin. Johnny Mac is sure on of them

during his wimby match with roger. Johnny Mac kept saying "marat got the look, the game, got the talent and the look"
during cincy match commentator said " marat has sex appeal for all genders"

I

LOVE

MARAT SAFIN

PS: Its a self torcher and not good for health.

BUT......

It is so worth it

Re: Commentary at its best

This is just a totally random thought while watching the Blake-FIsh match, but Mats Wilander's voice is dead sexy. I could listen to him all day, I don't even care what he says, although he has some great insight IMO.

Re: Commentary at its best

During Monfils and Nalbandian match. In the 3rd set this happened.

Allan Stone : What's going on with Nalbandian, is he injured?

Masur : Yes, he is injured a heart muscle.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

One of the bulgarian commentators watching Federer losing to Rafa cried and didnt say a word until the end of the match. The other commentator continued alone.

I thought the Croatian commentator was pathetic with comments like "too bad" during Fed-Safin semi when an on the line winner turned out to be in for Marat and a series of similar ones throughout the match. During the final, his favorite was that character and personality will prevail and the standard for any match featuring him "Fed is an alien, mere humans cannot do that".

John McEnroe: Cilic ran right up to the umpire...what's his name? Tony Nieminen?
Ted Robinson: It's Carlos Bernardes.
John McEnroe: Close enough.
