Was it Barbara Schett? Sounded like her but can't be certain.

Re: Commentary at its finest

Eurosport commentators (I think) were talking about how only in tennis, players can come out and play with the exact same kit. (Zverev vs Thiem match)

They were basically saying how it's a bit weird and that the manufacturer should have prepared two kits for those ocassions. One should wear the zebra kit and the other the giraffe kit. Even commentators throwing punches at Adidas.

It's all PR... Someone started talking about Coric and now you guys believe he's so wonderful kid, his highest ranking - 84, Dzumhur highest ranking - 87. The same actually. Difference? Coric made it via wildcards - to Basel for example, Dzumhur had to reach it by hard work, on qualies, challengers.

I thought they were throwing punches at themselves, making no sense.

Players in tennis have long since been wearing the same kits. They obviously don't understand much about marketing.

Players in other racket sports have also worn the same kits. Swimming, too.

I always hated Eurosport and Sky commentators since they usually say dumb stuff. Eventually I've become immune to the bullshit. I was just waiting for someone to trash talk that disgusting kit.

Still better than the Croatian commentators. Our "most famous" one said: Cilic has a great kick serve. Shame he's playing on clay where you can't use it. That was the last match he commentated. He retired after at least 20 years of commentating tennis.

Re: Commentary at its finest

Whoever the guy is opposite McEnroe on NBC just had this gem. Johnny Mack " blah blah, he's playing great on clay, taking out all these guys, now Karlovic and Isner."
Other guy: "Yeah taking out the Twin Towers of tennis"
Murray-Al Qaeda comparison, would make the hatetards here proud.

Re: Commentary at its finest

Peter Fleming commentating on Gasquet Granollers.

Regarding Ferrer and Nadal and the prospective state of Spanish elite tennis: "Both in their 30's now, it's the guys like Granollers that are coming up...."

Granollers is older than Nadal.

Re: Commentary at its finest

At the score of 2-1 sets Pouille and 5-3 Nadal in the 4th, Wilander said "for the first time in the match, Nadal is in the lead".

No Wilander, that is not how the scoring system works.

Re: Commentary at its finest

Simon Reed's BBC co Commentator said some really weird stuff at the Olympic final about wet towels and naked bottoms, Simon Reed just went silent for about a minute, really odd.

Welcome to MTF...

Re: Commentary at its finest

Chris Bradnam is really on fire with the whispered "wow", pronounced "waw". He's doing it every few minutes.
