Re: Commentary at its finest

In the Hewitt Tipsarevic match right after the serbian hits a flat backhand winner, the romanian commentator on ES tried to appear more smart than he actually is and stated that Tipsarevic hit " a perfect topless ball".

This is disheartening. Those within the industry seem to think that Wilander is some sort of misunderstood genius, ffs.

Just goes to show how deluded the people working in the media actually are. Most of them are perfect as laughing stock fodder.

Re: Commentary at its finest

I remember during the Australian Open a few years ago Wilander said something like "Wawrinka has the best one-handed backhand I've ever seen" and then a few days later during a match he got asked who he thought had the best one handed backhand in the game and replying Gasquet.

Was something similar to that but still what the fuck?

He's the same as McEnroe - prone to hyperbole, and will say whatever random shit comes to his tongue without letting his brain filter it.

Re: Commentary at its finest

Mats Wilander is unintentionally hilarious. The man must be a complete idiot. I look forward to viewing Euro Sport's coverage of the Federer Tomic match to laugh at Mat's inane ramblings.

Wilander and Chris Evert are absolute clowns when it comes to commentary. They up the entertainment value of boring matches however.
