It was weird cause I was reading about Casino Royale when they said that.

Boris always wants a hug - he's Russias fanboy But especially Marats

Re: Commentary at its best

Bill Threlfall comes out with some absolute classic stuff.

Favourite quote was 'he always plays with a smile on his face, win or lose' when commenting on Gonzo. That's right Bill, he always smiles when he destroys a racket every other match. Only the previous day he had lost it in the 3rd set against Djokovic.

Others:

- At 3-3 and 15-40 in the Almagro/Bjorkman match, Billy says: "here are a couple of set points".

- Almagro hits a serve which is called out and Almagro challenges the call using Hawkeye. Threlfall says: "I'll put my whole house on this being called in". Next few seconds Hawkeye shows the ball a few inches out.

-Billy: "Whats he like on clay (Davydenko), iv never seen him play on clay...."

Mark: "hes won 5 titles on clay and a 3 time finalist".

-'And Djokovic levelling it up at 5-4'

Not to mention the stats he comes out with. 'The winner of the 1st point in the tiebreak wins it 80% of the time'

Flemming and Cowan are constantly correcting him

Re: Commentary at its best

Fred Stolle at his best.

- Complaining at the amount of time little Ancic was taking in between serves. He started counting the times the ball was bounced before she served. "I am going to have to get a calculator to see how long she takes".

- The other one was "they are going to have to replace that ball before she hits it the amount of times she bounced the ball before serve".

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

It's womens tennis, but in the Venus-Spirlea 1997 US Open match, one of the British commentators said that Venus's game wasn't made for grass. :retard:

Stolle during the Hopman Cup when Bopanna played Berdych.

- "I think Berdych is the slight favourite here".

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".

Re: Commentary at its best

When these commentators found out Thunder Lips and Hingis were engaged.

One of them said, yes the rumours are unfortunately true and maybe we'll see Radek smile some more now.

I want to share some of the genius thoughts from Jordan Bojinov, the leader of Eurosport-Bulgaria team (sadly you guys can't listen to his commentary)

US OPEN 2006

"The official count of the audience tonight is 22 289, but that's true only if 5000 of them are disguised like empty seats"

"There should be an official rule in the matches against Agassi: no short balls against him, a little respect to the old man, please!"

"Welcome to the home of Youzhny, a home built from double faults"

"Baghdatis will appreciate meter and a half longer court, the real one appears to be too short for him'

"Now back to the Blake’s match, where the things are quite interesting, even criminal"

In Bulgarian they sound a lot better, but I think you can catch the spirit

TT results
singles: Winner /Casablanca/ :: Final /Gstaad, Maui CH/ :: QF /Tokyo, Acapulco/
doubles: Final /Cordoba CH, Maui CH/ :: SF /Los Angeles, Adelaide, Costa do Sauipe/ :: QF /Tokyo, 's-Hertogenbosch, Acapulco, Moscow, Beijing/ (with biliana)
PAW race rank 26 (29) :: results
Winner /Houston/ :: Final /Gstaad/ :: SF /Paris/ :: QF /Hamburg, Toronto, Tokyo, Lyon, Chennai, Auckland/
Suicide Tennis rank 9 (8) :: results
Winner /Dubai, Bangkok/ :: Final /Barcelona, Basel/

But personally I think Diema's commentators are funnier (unfortunately not in a good way).

"I'm down, I've got the 411, and you are not going out and getting jiggy with some boy, I don't care how dope his ride is. My momma didn't raise no foo'!"

Re: Commentary at its best

Bill Threllfall last year at some clay court tournament.

Romano Grillotti seemed reluctant to get down off the chair to check a call - as he hesitated and the player indicated he wanted it checked, Bill was heard to opine: "I don't know why he's taking so long, he should check the mark. The exercise wouldn't kill him either."
