Re: Guga vs Ljubicic (live)

Guga leads 3-0 in the fourth now! Well, after a Great Escape in the first round, he seems to be finding his range in this tournament and could be into the AO third round for the first time ver in a half hour.

Re: Guga vs Ljubicic (live)

lol Leo you're right.. after all these years, and even in 2001 when he was #1, he had a match point and still lost... but now he did it! He was more careful than usual, waited for his opportunities and he was patient... Ljubicic served a lot of bombs and attacked a lot today, but he made way too much UFES I guess...

well done Guga, keep up the great play! GOOOO!!!

Re: Guga vs Ljubicic (live)

A big surprise against a big server like Ljubicic, but then this is a week for firsts; Schalken made it to the third round for the first time too, so anything can happen.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Question match numbers

Does anybody have the match numbers?
All I saw at the tournment site was:

Aces: 17 (Ljubicic) X 8 (Guga)
Winners: 76 (Ljubicic) X 31 (Guga)
Unforced errors: 76 (Ljubicic) X ?? (Guga)

I found it very unusual, and I'm asking myself where has Guga's victory come from...

Cheers

Re: Guga vs Ljubicic (live)

Statistics don't tell all in tennis matches. You know there is such a thing as winning a point from a forced error. That isn't measured in the ue/winners.

anyway.................

Guga!!!

I am so happy this morning.

about statistics...

I agree they don't tell all. But they're an interesting complement and they help a lot. I'm also happy, but I would like to have a technical analisys of the match.
Anyway, if anybody knows more about it, please, let me know.
Cheers to everyone...
