I wonder if Nishikori's experience will play a factor, Thiem is notoriously bad at capitalizing on BP chances, maybe Kei will benefit a little bit from that knowing that his opponent will be tight.

Re: WWW Rome QF: Thiem - Nishikori

Nishikori is playing at a much higher level this clay court season, so I pick him in 2. I also don't think it's a particular good match-up for Thiem, since he won't be able to dominate Nishikori and his BH will be exposed regularly.

This will be the night session. Could be very interesting. Don't really care who wins, but I expect Nishikori to.

Should be a routine win for Nishikori. Doubt Thiem will cause him many problems.

Re: WWW Rome QF: Thiem - Nishikori

As much as I don't mind a competitive match between two of my favourites I sense Thiem will be outplayed off the baseline, unable to fully adapt to Kei's aggressive court positioning.

That said their lone match albeit on grass was tight and Thiem had set pts on Kei even. This time both on a surface they both enjoy
