Andy Murray d. Max Mirnyi 7-6, 6-4

Bit late starting this thread but Andy winning 2 matches in a row against Tursunov and Mirnyi in straight sets is almost a minor breakthrough after the last couple of months, and he's finding some form just in time going into Wimbledon. Go Andy

Good effort, he has a shot here, it's not like Roger or anyone is competing.

I am BUOH, warrior of heart and soul.

I like Max, but he makes a lot of unforced errors. Every week. His game has almost no margin for error, he just goes for everything and takes risks but it's fun to watch

Good win for Murray.
He seems to play very good one week and then he collapses in the other. He's a little bit erratic

Re: Andy Murray d. Max Mirnyi 7-6, 6-4

Andy is beating players who were in good form at Queens last week. If he draws a seed at Wimbledon there could be potential upset.

The current greatness league of active players in order of achievements to date (a factual comparison rather than fan biased assessment):

Federer 17 GS, 6 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.
Nadal 14 GS, 27 Master Series, 1 Olympic Gold.
Djokovic 9 GS, 4 Year End Masters, 24 Master Series.

This has been his problem for the whole year so far. He's making far too many unforced errors, especially on the return. He also had many matches in which he missed many easy volleys (e.g. versus Bogdanovic yesterday). It seems as if he isn't completely focused when he's on the court. I just hope that Max gets a good draw at Wimbledon because he has a lot of points to defend there.

I think there is every chance...Murray struggles against such players that get lots of balls back. He has beaten an umpatient players and a serve-volleyer...those two fall into his gameplan nicely.

Credit to Murray...he played well today and served well again, although not as well as against Tursunov. Max paid the price for some poor volleying in the last few games and failing to keep his incredible serving up from the first 3 service games of the match.
