Sock was moving pretty terribly and showed a terrible attitude as usual, upped his level for half of the second set but Sousa played surprisingly well, considering his season so far..

Sock needs to work on his movement badly, maybe by losing some timber and his attitude is that of a spoilt brat, spent most of the first set moaning about the court like a little crybabyZ

Sock had a Haas-esque existential crisis.

Hypesa Hypesa Hypesa :woohoo:

Lololol in ruins.

Starting to see why the hate towards Sock: allways with a sarcastic smile in his face, constantly arguing with the umpire even after he checks the marks on the ground, did not shake Umpire's hand in the end.

During a break in the 3rd set, said to his coach or whomever, "Why play, have you seen what's going on? No reason to play." (suggesting match fixing by the Umpire)

Domi on his way to being Wooden Spooned (although Sousa will face Nadal and the latter may very well reach the Finals, but still). :hysteric: Sousa as usual put on an interesting fight especially after losing that 2nd Set but really Sock should win these matches if he want to breakout as a Top 20 player. He doesn't looked that motivated to win this and get outplayed by Sousa IMO. Weird considering that he is a champion in the doubles category to have that lack of drive on singles too.

If Jack wants to be top 20 or higher he needs to do better at the masters. He had a tough draw beating Paire and Del Potro but Sousa is someone Jack should be beating. He still has not done well at the masters shocked he never reached a masters quarterfinals yet. This is what Jack needs to do I feel something is missing surprised he still is not top 20 yet.

Jack mentality needs to improve the ATP desperately needs another North American player in the top 20 to sell tennis. Jack could be that guy but he needs to grow up. In a match sometimes things will not go your way but you for got to fight. He has the same negative attitude against Juan Monaco in Houston. He should be top 20 or top 15 with his talent.

Kyrgios has always had a much better attitude than Tomic or Sock. Don't get me wrong, I think he's probably a jerk too, but his jerkiness doesn't really seem to effect his tennis in the way it does those two.

Glorious result. Thank you, Sousa.

Sock's on court behaviour does baffle me. I've met him a few times at Wimbledon last year and he was nothing but nice. When I spotted him in the crowd for the Kyrgios mixed doubles match vs Melzer and Strycova, he was being all goofy and posing for pics etc. Problem is he should be like this on court, but I think tries to hard to be cocky.

Sock actitude on court this year was very bad... after the think with is brother we came with good actitude but appers that time over...

In the first round he should lost the game but paire is even worst lol

Dispite that very good win for João, he deserve that.

Sock's fitness is just awful, just like Pospisil's fitness (his doubles partner). By the third set, he was finished, and we all remember what happened in Houston. It's just pathetic and makes me wonder if he even cares, or if he is enjoying the ride too much. Pospisil and he need a serious fitness trainer, fast. I mean, Vasek hasn't won an ATP main draw clay court match in his life and Jack struggles tremendously with fitness on clay and when conditions aren't serene.
