Henman beats Tursunov in hilarious match 6/3 7/6 (1)

I guess beating Delgado doesn't mean a lot but the stats are pretty awesome...8 aces and he only lost 7 pts on serve the entire match

Didn't see the match but he played very well against Agassi....I just hope he keeps this form up and stays fit - he is looking ominously good out there.

Most likely the small problem of playing Stepanek next

Re: Henman into Queen's R3

Poor old guy if he wins this or reaches finals. Well, at least Murray is there to receive all the attention

Drooling after Schuettler, Bolelli, Volandri, Starace (short haired version), ToJo, Tursunov, Alves, Petzschner, Simon, Qureshi, Steve Johnson

Re: Henman into Queen's R3

He'll be a happy man if he is looking at the draw...Stepanek is struggling (potential R3 opponent) and Tursunov looks dreadful (potential QF opponent)

Re: Henman into Queen's R3

Tim played a near flawless match; one thing that I noticed was that Delgado's service action in particular, and technique off both sides looked very similar to club players (or worse). I wonder if he was just taught badly early on, and stuck with that technique.

Jim Thomas - Max Mirnyi - Jordan Kerr - Rohan Bopanna - Andy Roddick - Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi - Ilia Bozoljac - Chris Haggard - Jan-Michael Gambill - Donald Young - Nathan Healey - Lleyton Hewitt - Jamie Murray - Olivier Rochus - James Blake - Vince Spadea - Tim Henman - John Isner - Travis Parrott - Paul Goldstein - Tim Henman - Wes Moodie - Arnaud Clement - Michael Russell - Jeff Coetzee

Doesnt matter about tursu, he will beat tim on one leg. Although, he will have a good chance againt stepanek. Maybe henman will be lucky if someone takes out tursu. He was looking good in his two matches so far, and I think you are right about him being british number 1

Re: Henman into Queen's R3

As a Brit, I would feel a lot happier with Tim as No.1. However, I think he would stand no chance against Tursunov if it comes down to it.

Yeah, Tim is not a bad guy. Hes not perfect, but at least hes not an asshole. Rusedski not really british and Murray is a disgrace to GBR, so it would be good if Tim is able to get back there again.

I agree, even though i like Andy, he is a petulant kid at the moment and he annoys me on the court. Like today, i wasn't at all bothered he lost but if Tim had lost i would have been a bit upset. Maybe it's also cos i feel Tim's into his last few years and he should be having good results.

Great win for him today though, go Tim!!

Re: Henman into Queen's R3

Tursunov is not unbeatable. Henman should have closed him out at SW19 last year and if he plays a good match I think he could beat him, after all Dima has hardly impressed so far in this tourney.

I am BUOH, warrior of heart and soul.

You're very supportive of our players then?

Yeah I agree with what you say, but Tursunov is one of the those awkward players for Henman....he likes a target and can blow him off court. Tim will beat him eventually...but he will always lose more meetings with him than he'll win.

Law of averages would be good for this time around...and as you say Tursunov has been pretty average...and Tim has played the best I have seen in years.

Well I prefer to like or support the players I like for their game or the personality, never been a country-fucker. Same with all sports really, there are assholes from all countries; so it would be silly of me to support players just because of their nationality Although, I think tim is one of the best brits in terms of his personality. And there are a few brit girls I like but not because they are brits.
