Wow i can't believe it

Rafa has more slams now than Roddick, which to be honest i never thoiught would be the case 2 years ago. Despite him beating Rafa in the 04 Open Roddick and Rafa are going in 2 different directions.

If they meet in Melbourne and/or Flushing again, who would win more times than not? (we all know Roddick on grass and Rafa on clay)

Re: Wow i can't believe it

Right now, I would say Rafa over Roddick on ALL surfaces.
Even on grass, to me Andy really has to prove himself again this year, given his poor results so far.
Let's see how things go in the next month.

Jerry, a question for you.
Why do you abhor Roddick so much?
Every time I see your post or thread, it seems like you always mention something negative about him even when the topic is irrelevant.

Re: Wow i can't believe it

You can't really go by that 2004 USO encounter since Nadal was

A) 18
B) Not 100%
C) Had no where the game that he has now

Still, if Roddick plays like he did in late 2003 or throughout 2004, didn't make too many errors off of the Bh, it would be a really good match.

Yes, and Andy was playing really well in that match too. Probably hasn't played as well since.

Re: Wow i can't believe it

Both completely different careers, Nadal has more slams and it current number 2 by a long way, but as said above Andy is a former number 1 and has reached more slam finals.

Andy Roddick

Feliciano López

Dmitry Tursunov

Re: Wow i can't believe it

I don´t expect much on grass from Nadal and I know that he wants to try hard, but, it is such a foreign surface for him!

I hope that he starts doing better and beats Andy and most players on grass as well.

Re: Wow i can't believe it

Andy will use Queens and The Championships as Roger will (with Halle) as a confidence booster. Andy has proven over the YEARS that he is the second best grass court player (As Roger has proven on clay). Doesnt mean that Andy will win, dont get me wrong. So if Andy is in a positive mindset, he would take down Rafa (as would Hewitt and Blake).

Re: Wow i can't believe it

Hahahaha.

Grass is natural talent, it's about shot making, now with that being said, don't be suprised to see Nadal advance to a QF, as a direct result of a weak draw.

Grass is for tennis players.
Grass is for shotmakers.

Which means, no matter how many hours he spends running around at a residential practice court shouting vamos and retrieving ball after ball, he'll never be a champion at Wimbledon.

It's no secret, the field is very weak right now. Anything is possible, but this kid would be spanked badly by Roddick on grass. What a fucking joke, now all of a sudden Nadal is an all surface player that can abuse the 2nd best grass courter in the world behind the man himself ?

Get off the drugs and stop overhyping this kid. He's spanked Roger a few times on his dirt, bottom line. Let's not get out of hand here people, calm it down a tad bit. Please don't mention Dubai, a best 2 out of 3 set final. The jokes just keep coming, people from Nadal's camp need to understand the role of their player with regard to his skill level from other players.

Thanks in advance.

Agassi, please wake up.
Djokovic, please wake up.
Berdych, please wake up.
Baghdatis, please wake up.
Gasquet, please wake up.
Marat, please wake up.
Nalbandian, please wake up (unless you're playing Roger)
Hewitt, please wake up.
Roddick, please wake up.

Please wake up and show up for a change, otherwise a freak of an accident like Nadal advancing to the 2nd week of Wimbledon may occur.
