Will Nalby be right for Wimbledon?

In the "Ancic is 2nd favourite for Wimbledon" thread, it seemed that it's assumed Nalbandian is out, or at least uncertain of playing at Wimbledon.

Is he out for Wimbledon, or is nothing known yet?

Re: Will Nalby be right for Wimbledon?

Angel Ruiz Cotorro(his Spanish doctor) said that he's sure David will be at Wimbledon. His injury is in the abs, but it's different from the one he had before in the same area, and even though the tests are not ready, he's optimistic about it.

I pray Angel is right, otherwise it will be a significantly diminished Wimbledon experience for me.

*crosses fingers*

I get so depressed thinking about Wimbeldon. Roger will probably drop like 2 sets the entire tournament. That means that a summation of 7 players won't be able to take 3 sets from Roger.

Nalby will beat him

Disclaimer: Nalby won't beat him. No-one will. Nalby will just come closest.

Re: Will Nalby be right for Wimbledon?

its a shame that nalbandian came down w/ the ab injury in the middle of the second set. w/ the tentative way federer was playing in that match (and in the final) nalby could have taken the match. for those that chalk nalby's retirement to mental toughness, look at how he was playing in first set versus second and third and you'll see that his movement and strength w/ which he hit the ball plummets dramatically. i want nalby to win one major before he retires!

Re: Will Nalby be right for Wimbledon?

There is still two weeks before Wimbledon and I would be very surprised if Nalbandian wasn't there. He has often expressed his love for the Grand Slam tournament in which he has progressed furthest. Abdominal injuries are always a worry as they affect your core strength but Nalby is built like a bull and made of stern stuff.
I'm sure he will be there....I'll be mightily disappointed if he isn't.

I hope to see David there, but I do worry about his particular injury. I know that, at least for basketball, an abdominal injury can reoccur quite easily. I think David said in his post-match conference that he suffered a similar injury a while back.
