Final Four Seedings

Anyone know why #1 Seed is playing #3 Seed instead of the #4 Seed? Shouldnt it be 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3?

Re: Final Four Seedings

I understand lots of the unseeded players are random, but the main seeds should be bracketed to where 1 seed should play the 4.. just like ncaa

Re: Final Four Seedings

Simple. The organisers are trying to get a Fed-Nadal matchup.

Fuckers at Wimbledon made certain that Fed-Roddick would not meet before the finals.
And the fuckers at RG are keeping Nalbandian away from Nadal. Guaranteeing he makes the final.

The Aussie organisers should tour, and be in charge of all the grand slams.

Re: Final Four Seedings

It is random as evidenced by the last forty grand slam tournaments.

In those tournaments, a 1 v. 3 2 v. 4 seeding has occurred twenty-one times.

Australian: 2006, 2003, 2002, 2000 & 1997.

French: 2006, 2003, 2002, 2000, 1998, & 1997..

Wimbledon: 2005, 2004, 2000, 1999, 1998 & 1997.

U.S.: 2005, 2004, 2003 & 1998.

Pretty much an even split between 1-3/2-4 and 1-4/2-3.

Re: Final Four Seedings

Just to keep the world waiting to have a rafa-fed match. keep everyone at the edge of their seats and make us wait for that nerve racking moment. To give everyone enough time to buy their popcorn and big cushions and settle themselves right in front of the tv .just as Jimble as that =D

The way it is, it's completely irrelevant whether you are no.1 or no.2 seed. Same goes to no.3 and no.4, then no.5 through no.8, etc. It's organised in 'floors', first two seeds can't meet before final, first four can't meet before semifinal, first eight can't meet before quarters and so on. Everything else except that is completely random.

Re: Final Four Seedings

It is meaningless...the top4 advance to the sf in every 20 slams;-)

i think it's a good way to make the draw
