Ljubicic's Road to the Semis: Easiest Ever?

For all you staticians out there, I'm wondering if Ljubicic's draw to a Grand Slam semifinal is the weakest in history. The best player he had to beat in his 5 wins was #79 in the world. I can't imagine more of a cakewalk than that.

Djokovic.

Coric.

Youzhny.

Del Potro.

Paire.

Ferrero.

The real question is:

Which is a bigger joke? Ljubo's road to the semis or ESPN's coverage?

Still, a really easy draw.

Definitely Ljubo's road to the semis.

"What kind of shape am I in now? Well round is a shape." said Roddick with a laugh. "I had a very detailed retirement plan, and I feel like I've met every aspect of it: a lot of golf, a lot of carbs, a lot of fried food, and some booze, occasionally — I've been completely committed ... The results have shown."

From the #79 to Nadal on clay. A nice gap of difficulty.

Let's see (again):

Benneteau defeated Baghdatis and Stepanek
Ramirez Hidalgo defeated C. Rochus and D. Ferrer
Monaco defeated Verdasco

Would you like more if he played Vercasco, Ferrer and Baghdatis? Well, they all got their chance...

Apart from Ferrer, nobody was really a serious contender in his quarter.

Ferrer... will be disgusted for a long time.

Re: Ljubicic's Road to the Semis: Easiest Ever?

Also Ferrero in Aus Open 04, although it wasn't as easy as the ones listed above. He only faced one top 50 player

1R #82 Albert Montañes
2R #46 Filippo Volandri
3R #90 Joachim Johansson
4R #67 Andrei Pavel
QF #51 Hicham Arazi
SF #2 Roger Federer
