Why do players write their names on their shoes?

Was just wondering. Because I thought they only did that in the 1st grade. It looks so juvenile. Don't they have lockers where you can keep your things seperate from other players? Or do all the players just throw their s#it in a pile. And the name helps them identify their stuff.

Just in case the shoes get lost...
So you can give them back to the owner... or sell them ebay... your choice

It's very childish and ridiculous

"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another" .. Madonna

Drooling after Schuettler, Bolelli, Volandri, Starace (short haired version), ToJo, Tursunov, Alves, Davydenko, Djokovic, Petzschner, Ferrero, Simon, Qureshi

Nike customize shoes for the public now as well.

You can change the colours of the different parts and write on the heels.

Go to their website and look at the bottom of the page:

In Miami, Cliff Drysdale seemed amazed by all the players having their names on their shoes until Mary Joe told him that anyone could order them from the website.
