Federer def. Ancic 6-4, 6-3, 6-4

Very impressive Federer, almost perfect performance again! The only blip: the break point conversion But just like against Berdych, he was down in a set and fought back to take 5 games in a row! Keep it up Fed

He gets 2 days off and likely will face Nalbandian.I thought Ancic played ok but not enough to take out Roger.

Federer beats wary Ancic, reaches semis

Federer fought off a courageous effort from Ancic in the first set & won 6/4
at 3-2 serving Ancic was tired down & out, yet he battled still
lost 6/3
& managed to stay on court when he was visibly spent,
Federer wins 6/4 6/3 6/4 in over 2 hours
Ancic won himself many admirers, refused to give up & played on. great effort

Federer will play the winner of Nalbandian vs. Davydenko

Expected... if Mario even took a set it would not bode very well for a clash with Nalbo (seems he is in the winning mood against Davy ), let alone Nadal. Anyway, all fairy tales come to an end, Mario's own finished at the hands of Fedex, which isn't that much of a disgrace. Could have been worse.

Re: Federer def. Ancic 6-4, 6-3, 6-4

Nadal and Nalbandian are the only ones able to beat him regularly these days. And they are the probably the last on the road of his first French open. The real challenge begins for him, he has done the minimum he had to do.

Fed did enough when he needed to. I assume that Nalby will be in the semis unless he has a brain cramp. It is going to be a much tougher match so he better be prepared.

Need ideas for a new signature...
