Why does Djokovic bounce the damn ball so much?

I mean, 3-4 times is ok, 5-6 acceptable, but he bounces it like its

Does he try to catch his opponent offguard when he suddenly stops bouncing and actually hits it?

I found myself counting the bounce rather than watching the match.

It's an experimental form of hypnotism. He has to find the right timing and sequence, but when he does, he will be able to reduce any opponent to a mental state of :retard:.

Honestly? It's probably like all the other players' little rituals and obsessions--as irritating as it is to everyone else, it's what calms his nerves.

I was slightly irritated also and I was cheering for him but I think he was tired for one so he was trying to settle and calm down

gossssshhhhhhhh stop making sense!

I mean I can only speak for myself but ball-bouncing is a lot less annoying than, say, ASS-PICKING.

Hey, don't mess with the ass picking.

I've counted them, he bounces the ball around 12/15 times. It's incredible. But it's obviously a matter of concentration.

Seriously, if all players were the same and didn't have their own 'rituals' tennis would be a lot more boring.

Re: Why does Djokovic bounce the damn ball so much?

hahahah...I bounce the ball a million times sometimes when some opponent I'm playing is pissing me off and I feel like being annoying.

But yeah, in Novak's case, it's probably just his own little ritual, nervous habit, whatever. Who cares?

Re: Why does Djokovic bounce the damn ball so much?

Haha true that about Kiefer (using the same ball with which he made the previous point, touching the corner of the court with the racquet at important points, etc.), although Agassis rituals arent that bad either.

Exactly, which is why I found it so funny and ironic that the person complaining about someone's habits has an av of someone who has more habits than anyone I can think of

It seems then that the Djokovic-Nadal QF is going to be a good matchup. While the former bounces the ball the latter will have time to pick his socks, his butt, fix his hair AND clean the baseline.

Works perfectly for everyone!

Is he still spitting too? 'Cause that adds another second, second and a half.
