Federer will lose to Ancic

Seeing how CLOSE the resemblence is to Sampras. This following newspiece leads me to believe Federe will lose to Ancic just as Sampras lost to Courier

Ironically the 25th victory came in the 4th round of the French open, SAME as sampras

Quote:
Roger Federer's straight-set victory over Tomas Berdych put him on yet another plateau.

It was his 25th consecutive Grand Slam victory, tying Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors and placing him four behind the record held by Rod Laver (1968-69).

If Federer wins the French Open, he'll have 28 straight wins and can break the record in the second round at Wimbledon.

Sampras reached 25 straight at the 1994 French Open, before he lost in the quarters to Jim Courier.

Dont think so.I am sure he wont take Ancic for granted.Ancic has a big serve but so did Berdych.I thin if Roger plays his game, he will win.

Yup Berdych is kinda good practice for Fed, Ancic will do more of the same except he's more steady and has a better overall game especially at the net.

It certainly will be a tough one since Mario seems to be in a fighting to the end mood in his past two tournies. What determination.

Re: Federer will lose to Ancic

Ancic will be difficult if he keeps a lot of balls in play and thereby gets to the net before an error.

BTW, if Ancic does beat Federer, it will be because of what happens on that day. Nothing about Sampras losing to Courier in the QF's after 25 straight GS wins has anything to do with it.

It's amazing how Federer and Sampras share so many similarities.
But I think Fed is good enough to win this match though.

But what about the Courier/Ancic element? Obviously, Ancic is really just little-Goran, so in 2008, they are going to meet in the Wimbly final and Ancic will melt in the 5th, cry...get injured...leave a few years...and win in 2011 as a wildcard when Roger is finally taken out by a random kid from the USA, his first loss at Wimbledon since the 4th round of 2006 when he loses to a tall dutch guy.

Ancic is much different from Berdych. He has a bigger serve and frequently attacks at the net. If Ancic Holds his serve he will definetely has a chance to win. I'm expecting Ancic to shorten rallies as Federer is strong from the baseline.

Berdych's Match is definitely a tougher match than the scoreline suggests.

I know they have very different games but a similar approach to the game which is to be aggressive Berdych mostly from the baseline and Ancic prefers to end at net usually and is very good up there; especially with his height and reach.

In theory before the match, but the scoreline is a pretty good indication of how the actual match went.
