Is RG the tourney with the best camera angles/work?

I say yes. Already last year I noticed those crazy angles. Especially the zeppelin/balloon cam which is hovering over the Center Court and providing great pictures. Then theres a cam which moves from left to right along the center court. Any many more things (players faces in the sky/court etc). I love it!

They've said on ESPN that they use the tourney's feed. It's NBC that has its own cameras I think.

trust me, espn doesn't use the tournament feed. i've seen the tournament feed. the normal angle is higher up and they superimpose images of the players over the clay all the time

maybe they say "send us your feed but without all the arty farty special effects French crap." ?

I kinda like it myself though they can get a bit carried away with themselves. Today we had a montage of Federer's yelling outbursts from in his Berdych match shown on what's supposed to be the screen of someone in the crowd's digital video camera.

Very silly.

@scoobs: Hehe, I found that very funny.

Normal TV camera view:

remote-controlled Zeppellin camera (constantly moving):

superimposed image of players on clay (they're doing that a lot):

Roland Garros is really okay, nothing to complain about regarding that department!
The camerawork is good, the producers are very very refreshingly playful which you can see in the great, sometimes funny graphics and several other effects (fadings, mirror effects, posterization. solarization and other tricks four:love for example showed in the post above...) before the player serves, when showing replays or during changeovers.

Another tournament which is excellently produced IMO is Kitzbühel by ORF (Austrian television). I noticed this especially since the last two years and the producers and directors seem to be very capable there. Good coverage, good camera positioning, well directed and usually a good commentator team (with Alex Antonitsch), only the oncourt reporter sucks a bit and I don't like him.

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy
