15 of the 20 best players in the world can't handle the pressure...

If we exclude Federer, Nadal, Robredo, Blake and Nieminen, the other players in the top 20 can't handle the pressure of being a favourite to win a match in one of the last rounds of a Grand Slam...

In the 90's men's tennis was way better than women's tennis because male players could handle the pressure and they were able to not choke in the decisive moments...

Now we are players in the top 20 that have a weaker mentality than Dementieva or Myskina...

And that's just sick...

How can the others not handle the pressure? How can Blake and nieminen and robredo handle it any better than former grand slam winners like gaudio?

What are you on about?

Re: 15 of the 20 best players in the world can't handle the pressure...

Nieminen was a favourite against Verdasco last year in the US Open and he won the match without any problems.

Blake, after beating Nadal, was a huge favourite against Robredo, with lots of pressure because of Roddick's elimination and he won the match without any problems.

And Robredo is able to handle the pressure very well too. He squashed Stepanek in Hamburg's final with the spanish media calling him already the winner before the match...

It's getting funnier

I'm talking about 2006. Not 2004. Gaudio can easily lose against someone when he is the favourite to win the match... He is the typical south american choker...

yes, quite. WHAT? First of all, you are not talking about 2006, you just said Nieminen beat verdasco last year.
The typical south american choker? When did he last choke? Blake loses to lower ranked players all the time

Hmm when he got broken 4 times in a row against Martin in Hamburg. Or when he let a injured Malisse beat him after leading 6:4 2:0 or when he couldn't hold serve in the 3rd set against Simon in Hamburg...

Blake lost early in San Jose and Memphis because he was injured. And then he lose some matches in clay because he's no claycourter at all...

I said last time, not name as many as you can.

I thought we were just to focus on 2006, why talk about nieminen in 2005?
What does Ljubicic fail to do that Blake does so well under pressure?
