Exclamation MTF 2016 Favourite Players Thread - Gold for Roger, Silver for Delpo, Bronze for Stan

Welcome to the 2016 MTF Favourite Players Thread

During the last years you could vote for your favorite active and retired players in seperate threads but this year you can include all your favorite players in just one thread but please note that you have to name at least 5 players, otherwise your vote won't count.

It would be much appreciated if you would include reasons for your decisions but it’s not a requirement.

Of course you can only vote once for the same player in your Top 10.

Think carefully about the players you want to vote for as it isn't allowed to change your votes later on in the year.

Unfortunately the Top 3 Alltime Favorite Players List wasn't too successful last year even though you could award your favorite players with higher points.

Therefore we just stick with the usual point system:

#1 = 10
#2 = 9
#3 = 8
#4 = 7
#5 = 6
#6 = 5
#7= 4
#8= 3
#9 = 2
#10= 1

I hope many of you will participate

You can have a look at previous results in here:

Re: MTF 2016 Favourite Players Thread

#1 = Stan Wawrinka (backhand, forehand, power, winners, mischievous, coffee, swearing in on-court interviews, backhand)
#2 = Magnus Norman (clay skills, coaching ability, personality)
#3 = David Ferrer (indomitability, wheels, stamina, refusal to quit, hard work, humility, stubbornness)
#4 = Gael Monfils (athletic ability, highlight reel, showstopper, entertainer, ultra-talented, also makes me tear my hair out)
#5 = Andy Murray (personality, profanity, equal rights, outspoken)
#6 = Nicolas Almagro (backhand, hairstyle, salty personality, salty t-shirts, pout, backhand)
#7 = Marc Lopez (grin, sunny personality, doubles skills, always makes me smile)
#8 (tie) = Nicolas Mahut (grasssss tennis, doubles specialist, personality)
#8 (tie) = Pierre-Hugues Herbert (funny, cute, great at doubles)
#10 = Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (huge talent, high peak, can defeat anybody, also frustrating)

And eleven more (though I know they won't be counted):

#11 = Benoît Paire (crazy, backhand, dropshots and dropshits, bromance with Stan) [falls out of top 10 because I can't w/his shitty attitude rn]
#12 = Chung Hyeon (sophomore slump right now, but I just really like him)
#13 = Thanasi Kokkinakis (my fave of the Aussie kids, although Tomic may be growing on me, oddly)
#14 = Frances Tiafoe (seriously funny guy, with a big game)
#15 = Elias Ymer (go Swedish tennis!)
#16 = James McGee (a journeyman with a fantastic attitude)
#17 = Dominic Thiem (love his personality; also has a great game)
#18 = Vasek Pospisil (huge smile, Popsock doubles)
#19 = Dustin Brown (unpredictable, grass, personality, fun)
#20 (tie) = Rafael Nadal (really respect his drive and his passion)

It's all PR... Someone started talking about Coric and now you guys believe he's so wonderful kid, his highest ranking - 84, Dzumhur highest ranking - 87. The same actually. Difference? Coric made it via wildcards - to Basel for example, Dzumhur had to reach it by hard work, on qualies, challengers.

You can include the retired players into your list as this year it doesn't matter if a player is active or retired

Sorry, you have to rank one of them as #9 as it's not possible to give the same amount of points to one player

Re: MTF 2016 Favourite Players Thread

1. Djokovic - BOAT among the GOATs
2. Thiem - Noted his skill since Umag last year and followed his gameplay. Big potential.
3. Nadal - I miss the rivalry with Novak, he was for years my 2nd favorite player. I think he is a genuinely good guy.
4. Tsonga - Also still like him, although he is not showing much for quite some time (kinda like Nadal).
5. Del Potro - Same as Tsonga and Nadal. I think I'm just sort of stuck in the past with these guys.
6. Monfils - Entertaining to watch.
7. Ferrer - A fighter.

Not sure who else to mention really. Apart from Djokovic and Thiem, no one is impressing me with their performance.

Retired:

8. Sampras
9. Kuerten
10. Agassi
