Henman's first serve = His downfall!!

What is going on with Henmans first serve??

He is capable of putting down some big serves i saw them against Carlson, but he also puts in far to many fairy first serves always in the hitting zone, that is his downfall, i think he is still one of the best returners and capable of breaking guys 1/2 a set no problem but he loses his serve 2/3 times a set on a consistant basis these days, and for me just doesnt win enough free points for him to be back in the top 20.

What do you guys think of his first serve?

What he has won a set back??

I think will still loose, not just this match but every match he hasnt the serve to beat the top plyers on a consistant basis anymore, im not watching the match but maybe he has brought his better serve the the court today.

Re: Henman's first serve = His downfall!!

If you're not watching the Tursunov match, how can you comment? I don't think he has been hitting many 'fairy' serves, I just think the positioning and mix-up of his serves has been to successful - I have seen him playing a lot into Tursunov's hitting zone, giving a comfortable return of serve. The pace is clearly not an issue, as when he hits into the body, or just a little wider out of Tursunov's zones, he is giving his opponent a lot of trouble, or constructing comfortable points for himself.

Re: Henman's first serve = His downfall!!

Maybe his BP conversion rate has something to do with it? Dima has 2 BP's and breaks no problem but Tiger Tim can't even break given 9 chances?

That's Henman all right. Great drop shot, double fault, second serve ace. Who knows what'll happen next.

So now Tursunov serves for the match. I can't believe Hen,an has managed to not win this set. He has played so much better than Tursunov.
