Andy Murray Is Finnish
Hard to say it as his supporter, but winning Wimbledon and then Djokovic's ascent has broken Andy Murray's spirit.
The last time Andy Murray thought he could win a Slam was Wimbledon 2015. Fedbot showed up and put an end to Murray's hopes, as I believe that was the last time Andy thought he could beat Nole in a Slam final, with his grass pedigree. Then Djoker embarrassed Fed in that final and Murray bent over to Anderson on the US Open as Nole dominated Fed again.
After winning Wimbledon, Murray lost a year and a half with injury and mostly lack of direction. He has repeatedly shuffled his team around since the Mauresmo appointment, and has now resorted to adding his snooker pals into the mix.
2015 was a consistent year, especially on clay, but his Slam runs got worse throughout the year, and possum Nole forever destroyed his hopes of winning the Australian, as evidenced by the carefree attempt in the 2016 final.
Since 2014, Andy has no heart to go long distances with Novak anymore, and bails out with awful ballbashing. He looks confused returning Federer's serves, and his own serving has gone down the drain.
He has a good slice serve in the deuce court, but that gets brutalised by Novak, and even as his second serve speed is going up, it falls apart in the 30-30 crunch moments.
He is looking for distractions in matches, especially when he has a marginal lead to protect. Spider-cam, crowd moving, women's balls, bad calls, anything so he can lose a point and look at his box and rail against the world.
And worst of all, he finally looks a step slower, and appears to be turning into a gutless choker against mugs.
