Goran will comeback soon!!!!!

Ivan hails Goran's green light
11 January 2003

Ivan Ljubicic has backed his hero Goran Ivanisevic to make a success of his long-awaited comeback and has claimed that his fellow Croatian should be back on the ATP tour in the near future.

Since winning an over-running Wimbledon in 2001, defeating Pat Rafter on the third Monday of the grand slam tournament, Ivanisevic has hardly played any tennis due to injury.

He is determined to reappear and play again at Wimbledon, his favourite tournament, but a succession of injuries have prevented him from doing so to date.

Ivanisevic, now 32, underwent a shoulder operation in 2002 and suffered a knee injury in 2003.

Ljubicic makes no attempt to hide admiration for his compatriot and carries with him a photo of Ivanisevic with the Wimbledon trophy.

"He is not going to come back just to come back," reasoned Ljubicic on Saturday, after losing in the Qatar Open final to Nicolas Escude.

"He is going to come back to do well. I think he is close to coming back."

Weeeeee at least one flamboyant player comes back Goran in doubles with Marat, now that's an idea. It is not going to work, but they could try lol.

Re: Goran will comeback soon!!!!!

I just hope that this comeback is in no way similar to the one he had last year. I myself was only 15 meters away from him when he fell down on the ground and injured his knee, and it was such a pitty to see him retire....

People I don't think it's going to be all that easy. You are talking of his return and wishes that he'll play Wimby, but what is his ranking. He'll probably be forced to play Challengers at first. I think that its not probably anymore... It will be a long, long journey....

Anastasia Myskina, Marat Safin thank you.

i just want to see him on court again, don't mind the results, come back, Goran

Rafa! Rafa! Rafa!

Epic movies, like brokeback mountain, are seldom found in the industry or worthy for the mainstream viewer. As often as I have watched the clips of this movie, I always find something more to it. For one, the gay stuff doesn't enter the picture for me, only the dimension of the highest love I have ever witnessed in life or on film.

he will have an injury ranking of 19, so he can chose what level he wants to play at.

Re: Goran will comeback soon!!!!!

Besides the injury ranking, I am sure that he will be given a wild card, if necessary. There is absolutely no way that the Wimbledon board of directors, or whatever, will choose e.g. Alex Bogdanovic over a former winner. I do agree with Vass that it will be difficult if he does make a comeback. I frankly expect a loss in the first or second round. Unfortunately, that is.
