Unfortunate news. This means Del Potro actually has a good chance of winning this if he is completely healthy,a top 30 level might be enough.

It still remains unclear how serious this injury is. The fact that he didn't pull out of Acapulco at the same time as Delray would suggest that he thinks there's still a chance he can play in a week and a half, but I would assume that's also unlikely.

He certainly doesn't want another injury plagued season like 2015, so he better be taking all the time he needs with this.

Shame for Milos, seems he was mentally in top form.

But I'm afraid he's just going to be forever too injury prone, just looking at that constitution, it doesn't look like that body is made for extreme sport activity.

A bit Del Potro like -- cycle of peaking then having incurring injuries, sad. I hope he takes his time in recovering, especially his progress has been quite good. Breaks have shown to be very beneficial as seen with Troicki and Cilic although for very different reasons. Maybe he could do a Nadal-esque 6-month break to fully recover I mean surely this has been recurring since last year that maybe a big break is needed?

That's a shame for Raonic, especially considering his promising start to the year. Hopefully it's just a relatively minor issue though and his season isn't completely wrecked by injury like last year.

There goes the last hope for the younger guys this year. Weak youngster era confirmed again.

Hope he can quickly come back from this and ascend to the top.

He is right. Now he was able to catch up the Tier 2 of currently ATP, he doesn't need to play those MM's anymore. He can built his ranking solely on ATP 1000 and Grand Slams and should be more than enough to reach the top 4 until the US Open.

PS Tier 2 these days obviously consist of Federer, Murray and Raonic, while Tier 1 is only Djokovic.

You forgot Wawrinka, but I guess it's hard to classify him. He plays on tier-1 in one tournament, tier 3 in the next, although quite consistent lately in the majors.

Raonic could make his way to credible threat (despite his limitations), unless he gets injured all the time as he seems very injury prone for now.

All I know is that Raonic will be back with a full health. Delray means nothing because he has already secured two 250 title and he will be fine. This type of injury may take 2 to 6 weeks to fully heal. If he makes his return to Indian Wells, it will be 6 full weeks since Australian Open and he should be able to play without any issue. That injury has nothing to do with foot.

He will only lose 180 points from his SF in Rotterdam. It does however impact the draw if he is seeded 13th for IW, meaning he may have to face top 4 in the round of 16 especially if he is defending 360 points from his IW SF. He may won't be seeing any significant rise in the ranking until the spring unless he reach the final in IW or Miami. He lose some more matches experience to further develop his newfound attacking game and won't be able to do it on the clay season until June with grass season coming. That's months away.
