no thread? great win for dusan. he can pick up some good points this clay season. its actually his second win over isner. first came at the boodles last year. next up is his doubles partner thiem
Isner never faced a BP the whole match and had 6 of his own only converting 1 of them, anyway no idea why he decided to play here instead of Memphis, complete bonehead decision so this is what he gets for his stupidity.
I too am puzzled by his decision to go to South America. The Olympic tournament is on hard. Playing on clay in Rio de Janeiro will not help him win on hard in Rio de Janeiro. Unless he went down there to build up his immunity to the Zika virus.
Maybe decided to try to improve his clay game for the next slam in the calendar, but still a weird decision to skip Memphis. At least you can't accuse of him avoiding the clay!
Lajovic has his progress hindered from a great 2014 run in 2015 but good for his confidence surely getting a win against a Top 15 player -- that being said...not sure what to say about Isner being outclutched on TWO TBs by Lajovic, who is not the most mentally solid player out there.
It's weird, about 3 or 4 years ago Lajovic was pretty universally acclaimed as the biggest choker on tour. But in the last year or two he's become, if anything, above average mentally.
I agree with those saying he should have played Memphis purely because from what I have seen of Isner lately he is trying to be very aggressive off the ground and on return, which is the right play I think but a fast indoor court will reward that more.
He used to be good on clay because he was pretty defensive for such a big guy.
