Inb4 draw is rigged for Nadal because he plays Monaco in R2
You can pretty much always count on Nadal to send Monaco to the bakery. Just look at their clay h2h:

2015 Buenos Aires F Clay Rafael Nadal Juan Monaco 6-4 6-1
2014 Madrid Masters R32 Clay Rafael Nadal Juan Monaco 6-1 6-0
2012 French Open - Roland Garros R16 Clay Rafael Nadal Juan Monaco 6-2 6-0 6-0
2011 Spain v Argentina - DC WG - F 0 Clay Rafael Nadal Juan Monaco 6-1 6-1 6-2
2007 Stuttgart Outdoor QF Clay Rafael Nadal Juan Monaco 6-1 6-3
2005 Bastad R32 Clay Rafael Nadal Juan Monaco 6-1 6-1

Then again, this is 2016dal...

I don't think confidence is a problem.
Verdasco-Nadal was a far higher level of tennis than Murray-Djokovic....

Verdasco 90 winners, 91 unforced errors.
Nadal 37 winners, 38 unforced errors.

Djokovic 31 winners, 41 unforced errors.
Murray 40 winners, 65 unforced errors.

Nadal should at least make finals here. But great matches in prospect overall. :worship:

Dolgopolov not enough?

Ferrer is not a threat anyway, became old and awful form. Tough road for Nadal. And he may lose to anyone, he is that inconsistent in last two years.

Indeed, good field in Argentina.

Probably a boring tournament with Nadal defeating Vulture in the final for the upteenth time. We can only hope the people of Buenos Aires are treated to a more interesting final though, like say Tsonga vs Thiem or really any final not involving Ferrer.

Pretty nice field actually. Nadal is probably a 60% favourite at best tbh.

This tournament can be quite interesting and there are at least a few candidates to win. I choose Nadal but it could be difficult for him. He's already preparing for RG and more clay wins will be good for his confidence.
