Unhappy If Ljubicic beats Gonzo, he'll be #3 in the world

If Ivan wins his match against Gonzo, the points will be like this (im pretty sure)

3. Ljubicic- 2840
4. Nalbandian- 2825
5. Roddick- 2540

Daveeeeed
Andy

nothing against Ivan, he deserves the #3 spot if he beat Gonzo, and I also think these 3 will continue to jokey for the 3-4-5 spots all year, just like Hewitt-Roddick-Safin last year, no?

If he does then I suspect Nalbandian will recoup the points difference swiftly, even though he does have Munich champion points to defend, but it's all gravy for Ljubo in the long-term until the indoor season. LOL, he is getting closer to being the No. 2 in the world... but third spot may be as close as he'll ever get.

The Wit and Wisdom of the Tennis Journalist, Indian Wells 2004

ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, I remember this one time when I went on a vacation on the Maldives. That was in the year 2001, I think. I went to this spa. I went to walk around with my girlfriend. I walk in, and we want to book a spa. This guy goes, "AHH, I remember you. You beat Sampras. I saw you on TV." That was like, really, how can you remember me? This guy has probably never been off his island and still knows me. I was a little bit shocked. Then I went to play tennis with him because he was actually the tennis teacher. It was nice.

Q. Were you naked at the time in the spa?

ROGER FEDERER: No. It was at the front desk. I didn't walk in naked.

Go Ivan! Please beat Gonzalez; that would be awesome

How far does Andy have to fall to not be seeded #2 for Wimbledon? Obviously he doesn't have much to defend between now and then but if he's anywhere in the top 5 will he still be seeded #2?

I gave a crack at it in this thread.

If I am not mistaken, Andy gets 1619 points from grass court performances from the previous 2 years, while Nadal has 40 points. Take that away from 1619, that would mean 1579. So if I didn't do anything wrong, if Nadal isn't at least 1579 points ahead of Andy when Wimbledon does the seeding, then Andy will be seeded second at Wimbledon.

Re: If Ljubicic beats Gonzo, he'll be #3 in the world

I don't necessarily think the ranking is important, but rather the points they have up until Wimby. If Rafa defends his clay points or close to it, I don't think rodduck has any chance at a number 2 seeding.

He will be seeded #2 no matter what ranking he would be.

Re: If Ljubicic beats Gonzo, he'll be #3 in the world

If I'm not wrong, Ljubo will only add 100 points if he beats Gonzo, so he'll stay at #4. He must reach the final to be new #3.
