WWW ? Australian Open QF - [3] Roger Federer vs. [6] Tomas Berdych

Federer beating Berdych in a Slam again is one of the things I want to happen the most in 2016, let's hope the GOAT saves tennis here.

I'm going to pick Berdych in 4 sets too, this guy always peaks against Federer (especially in Slams).

Berd hasn't threatened Federer since the new racquet. On the other hand this should be Peak Berdych, the AO version should be the best one. Based on their performance and Berdych's brainfarting in at least 1 set I go with Fed in 4.

Still a proud fan of Nicholas Kyrgios and Rublev's fh.

Berdych hasn't threatened Federer since he hired Dani.

If Berdych wins, it will be his 550th career win and 3rd consecutive AO SF. He will also become the first 'outsider' to beat one of the big 3 at Slams 3 times.

MTF games titles:

Suicide Tennis (5): Wimbledon 2014, World Tour Finals 2015, Madrid 2015, Kuala Lumpur 2014 and Metz 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 WTF, 1 Masters 1000, 2 ATP 250; 2 finals lost

Fill-in-the-Draw (3): US Open 2014, Rotterdam 2013 and Geneva 2015 - 1 Slam, 1 ATP 500 and 1 ATP 250

Tennis Tipping (3): Veneza and Todi 2014 (with vn01), Knoxville 2015 (with Redkop) - 3 challengers; 7 finals lost

If Federer has an off day on serve and shanks a lot then he will lose, otherwise it should be fairly routine. Hopefully in 3 so he can be fresh against Nishikori.

Re: WWW ? Australian Open QF - [3] Roger Federer vs. [6] Tomas Berdych

Federer the favourite, he's won the last eight sets they've played, but it won't be as easy as today. Berdych not to be underestimated. He's shown before he's got a better read on Federer's serve than most.

New year, new clothes, new Berdych

He might have a shot. Fed's gonna decline from this point on.

3rd SF, you mean He's already in his 6th consecutive QF, which is a very unusual streak for someone who's never won a slam.

Federer in 4 and Berdych to become a turkey in the process.

The game bores me now

Lord knows I despise Fakervic, a truly detestable individual, but at least the guy has some balls. Murray is a pussy whipped man-child, an embarrassment to the human race and living proof that evolution isn't all that it is made out to be. If he had any dignity he would retire now rather than face further humiliation.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant, edited it now. And yes, off the top of my head I can't think of any other Slamless players reaching 6 consecutive QFs at one of the Slams.

Re: WWW ? Australian Open QF - [3] Roger Federer vs. [6] Tomas Berdych

Berdych has the game to beat Federer and has done it multiple times before in a slam. There's really no reason this matchup shouldn't be competitive.

And yet, Federer in 3.
