I don't think they would ever finish, you mentioned Borg's longest match was 6 hours 15 minutes.
I think it would take them that long to finish a practice rally that would decide who serves first.
I just found out two other outstanding 5 set records from the past. Wyver these belong to two of your favourites.
Krickstein 28-9 at 75.67%
Muster 18-7 at 72%
Those are impressive. I recall Aaron beating Edberg at the Australian Open from being down 2 sets to love in 1995 during the 4th round. It was the first time since 1983 that Edberg didn't make at least the Quarters there.
28-9 really is incredible. The large amount of 2 set to love comebacks does show great fighting spirit and fitness but also suggests he was a slow starter and would only start playing when he was down and had to go for broke.
Muster's record is to be expected.
What do you think of Nalbandian's chances of having an outstanding 5 set record that would compare with the best percentages from that list. He is 6-2 at the moment, I think he will do very well in this category.
Should do well, also Schuettler is he keeps up the good showings in slams.
His record is 4-1 right now and he is built like a horse and does not have a game that will get many straight set blowouts but rather wearing the opponent down over 5 long sets. If he had started performing earlier in his career and played a few more 5 set matches, his record would be excellent already.
