Unhappy Rios is skipping OZ

Oh his site it said he will be training in January and will be playing in February. Crap, I was hoping to see him play in OZ. There goes my wish of him playing Andre early. Still I am glad he is doing well and will be playing next year.

Re: Rios is skipping OZ

I hope we will get an Agassi vs Rios match the next year.

I miss: Ivan Lendl, Korda, Novak, Bruguera, Rios, Kucera, Courier, Mantilla, Costa, Santoro and Ferreira.

Good luck to:

Gaudio, Murray, Florian Mayer, Chela, Nalbandian, Radek Stepanek, Volandri, Youzhny and Verdasco.

Too bad his attitude isn't worth a penny...

Unfortunate that he's not playing. I like his tennis (and that's it ).

Glad to hear that he will be playing next year, AND that Andre won't be facing him in January, lol!

Rios has real talent and maybe the fact that he's coming back instead of retiring means that his attitude is changed.

He'll do his part in keeping tennis interesting.

Re: Rios is skipping OZ

Its disappointing for all Australian fans. Sad to see he cant be bothered to make the trip.
And I believe he wouldnt have stood a chance against Andre. Its Andre's best tournament and Rios has done nothing in the last year, and is way past his prime. The H2H means nothing when you're out of the top 100 and as far gone as Rios is.

Your right Experimentee. Andre is at his most vulnerable in the early rounds. Andre would still be the fave to win the match but Rios would make it very interesting. Glad Rios is training and getting ready for the new season.

Re: Rios is skipping OZ

This is so funny.

he is acting like he needs January to prepare and be in prime condition, guess he forgot he has had months to prepare. pathetic waste of talent.

this is one of my favorite match-ups too.

Q. When you've played as few matches as you have over the last two, three months, did you ever lack motivation to go out and practice?

ANDY RODDICK: Motivation? No. I enjoy what I do. I enjoy what I do. You know, I've never been one to, you know, blow off practice or, you know, do anything like that.

You know, I'd be lying if I said I'm looking forward to practicing the next two days as opposed to playing here. That part is gonna suck...(2010 Aegon Championships)

Wyvern he had back surgery in September so he couldn't train for a while. I don't think many people knew that.
