Something that Safin and Roddick can't win

Here is something that Safin and Roddick are definitely not the best at.

Nominations are for the fastest player/best movement on the court. What I mean is just because a player is fast, that doesn't mean they have great court movement. I am wondering who is the best at these combined abilities.

I think Coria is the best in this field, he is very fast and has great anticipation and moves around the court magnificently, if he loses his speed then it would effect him even more than it would other players.

Also Ferrero, Grosjean, Canas and Rios ( before the injuries) are very good movers. Hewitt and Schuettler are very good on the hardcourts, but not as effective on clay.

Thumbs up

i think coria's the fastest... but i shall place my votes for schuettler cos i think he's not bad too....

but i think in the end...coria should win the poll...

Don't be deceived by the rankings!! Coria, Roddick, Mirnyi, Schuettler, Fish, Safin, Henman, Tursunov, Ljubicic, Bovina, Li Na, Ivanovic, Chan YJ, Dementieva, Vinci, Sugiyama, Coetzer, Tanasugarn, Vaidisova, Zheng, Dokic and Kournikova are the world's best tennis players in the world!!!

I agree Coria moves great and is one of the fastest. Its definitely his main strength as a player.
But it also kinda sucks as speed is the first thing to go as you get older sooooo Guillo had better milk these years for what theyre really worth !!

Federer has excellent movement, he is like a cat in those sneaks to the new, so does henman. You have to if you want to serve volley

I voted for Coria but I think Schuettler has amazing speed and movement too.

I'll go with Guille...
From those who are not on the list, Roger moves incredibly good
James Blake is great in this departure as well

Rafa * Justine

Re: Something that Safin and Roddick can't win

Coria's movement is superb, he's the fastest out there at the moment on any surface , but Hewitt, Ferrero, Grosjean and Schuettler get honorable mention....Safin may not be the best mover but he DOES move incredibly well for a guy who is 6'4

Just one question, why do people assume that tall guys can't be agile and flexible?
In soccer, hockey, basketball there are so many tall guys and they move fine.

I don't think anyone is actually saying that tall people cannot be agile - one only has to remember how Boris Becker used to hurl himself around the courts when he was young and he was over 6ft tall! I think the person who devised this poll is just saying that neither Roddick nor Safin are particularly agile or flexible, certainly when compared to the likes of Coria or some of the others named in the choices.

How can a vote for Rochus possibly be chauvanistic? You must have got the wrong word there

IMO its very difficult to judge who is the fastest, all of them seem quite fast but I think my vote would be for Ferrero. He covers the court extremely well on all surfaces.
Hewitt would be out since he doesnt move well at all on clay, you can tell he isnt used to sliding and cant get good footing on clay, this hampers his movement. And since movement is one of his main weapons consequently he doesnt do well on clay.

I vote for Coria. Marat move quite well for a guy that tall, but not as well as some others.
