geesh, what's it take to impress you? Daniilidou's ranked 26th.

Anyway, no there isn't many Greek tennis players - there is only 2 other women listed on WTA rankings from Greece - Zachariadou who is ranked 409th and Kipritidou who is ranked 798th. The men have got a few more (9 of them), but none of them are ranked very high. The highest is ranked is Economidis with 254. Mazarakis (#269) is the only other man ranked in the top 500.

Not a real strong tennis country. I heard that Daniilidou would be the one carrying the flag for opening ceremonies for Greece.

The home country almost always has this fantastic way of doing well in the Olympics.. so I wouldn't be surprised to see some Greeks "overachieve" - if we must use that word.

What is the name of the #1 Junior player who got beat at the US Open? Isn't he from Cypress? Is that part of Greece?

Also, the players that were named above...are they mostly teens?

Eleni has a ton of pressure on her shoulders. I hope she can do well at the Olympics next year, but I'm worried for her. She was a major letdown this year, unfortunately.

I was gonna say Mark, but he's got more Aussie in him.
