More disrespect.

No. He has been the first fiddle since 2011. Only haters could try to deny this.

I think Novak is going to win a lot of respect from tennis watchers after this amazing 2015 season. Now nobody can ignore him. He has pulled the best season in tennis history. Better than Federer's 2005 and 2006. Check it out -- next year, Novak will have his own aura around him just like Fed and Nadal.

Djokovic has surpassed all odds starting against two hugely popular players.... He has now made such a huge impact on the game this season, that even staunch Fed's and Nadal's fans will have to give respect to him.

2016 will be a new era for Novak Djokovic in terms of how tennis watchers view him. He will now be viewed as the new heir for the GOAT title. The new Federer. The new Nadal. And perhaps even someone who has gone beyond them both.

You just forget that Novak had 2011 when he became #1 for the first time. If he could continue to win in 2012,2013 then he could have that aura but now we see all top ten are older and do not fight for big titles . So it is easy to dominate 34 old Federer, Ferrer,Berdych, Wawrinka or declined Nadal. Novak was long time #3 and now is #1 for 4th year. That is the difference . Federer was young and all his opponents were young or younger. There was a fight. We have this great SF at AO2005 with Safin, Rome2006 , how many MC Finals Fed/Nadal played. Nalbandian /Federer matches 06 . It was jaw dropping staff . That was the main reason why Federer has so many fans . It is not only titles but your style of play . Federer does not win GS for a long time but he is still main draw everywhere.

What Orka said. This is just another thread where Djokotards can whine, specifically Chico

Time will put one of the most dominant players tennis has ever witnessed right into the place where he belongs. But no problems at all with him being less popular than Fedal, it's understandable for so many reasons. Let the tennis do the talking during the following years and we'll see how people measure his success amongst the utter elite of this sport.

respect for dominating the tour at its weakest period? I agree he deserves respect but I think he's been given exactly as is deserved. it's not as if he took a hold of the tour in some powerful period of high competition

his rivals were far from their best in the last few years, with his highest competition being 34 year old declined Federer. the rest of the tour is same old same old with lack of belief or ability, and the young guns are a joke

he deserves respect, sure, but there's nothing special about dominating a weak field. it's expected frankly. if young Federer popped up today or a younger guy who played like 2005 or 2008 Nadal they would likely dominate this tour as well, it's just a lack of in-form great individual players lately

I think Novak deserves respect but I think their is a vacuum at the top! The younger guys born in the 1990s are a huge disappointment!
If Nadal had not started beating Federer, and Djokovic hadn't started beating both of them, how would we know if his generation was weak or strong?

Federer, compared to other all time greats, will not be remembered as someone who stayed tough when the going got tough. Nadal was not only unable to chain 2 successful years, he was usually completely absent from the tour after one.

Maybe Djokovic is doing a better job at staying on top than they have?

Food for thought.

Respect for what? Dominating the tour while playing average tennis for the most year because his three main rivals are way past their best. Who is his biggest rival? An inconsistent Wawrinka.

Personally, I don't care about what random tennis "fans" have to say about Djokovic and his success. If they're too blinded by their fanboying for some other loser out there to appreciate the work Djokovic has put into his sport, that's their deal. At the end of the day, the legacy that Djokovic built this year will speak for itself. And that's really what it comes down to. Other players so rarely beat Djokovic on the courts that these asshats have to try to tear him down some other way, by bullshitting their way through his wins with stupid excuses that don't actually mean anything.

I don't know where people are looking if they don't see enough respect for Djokovic? I see total respect for him everywhere I look. (Love not being the same as respect, of course. But even people who don't like him respect what he's achieved, in my experience.)

Typical Chico. :)

Dude, Djokovic is respected, he is superconsistent after all and one of the best to ever play the game. He should be commended for his great ROS, impenetrable defense and the impeccabe length he can get even from defensive positions. That's more than enough to dominate the modern game, even though I personally don't think it's attractive to watch because there's little flair.

That's probably why he's just not adored as Federer, he simply lacks that little touch of creative genius. Maybe it's looks as well, he looks like death himself lately with those hollow cheeks. Nothing you can do about it either, it's not lack of respect!

Novak showed up and humiliated Nadal and Federer in a way nobody expected.

Going from 2007-2011, the amount of changes and consistent improvement Novak made led him to where he is now: an all time great who has broken many records and has a chance at achieving a lot more.

The narrative was that Federer was on top and that Nadal was the only one who could challenge him and only on clay. Nadal improved and started owning Federer everywhere so it became a duopoly and he was forced to be accepted because he kept owning Federer and derailing the narrative that Federer would be the only one at the top.

The last thing the media expected was that a Serbian who had been a solid #3 for years would rise to the challenge and start beating Federer and Nadal consistently on all surfaces. Novak's breathing problems, fitness, and only having won 1 slam had already been placed in the shadows as just another 1 slam wonder who sneaked in a win and got lucky. Novak accepted the challenge and in 2011 showed the world that Federer and Nadal will not dictate anymore by beating both convincingly for a 10-1 h2h for the year and becoming the world #1. The rest is known to all: consistent domination, breaking records to obtain 10 slams, 26 masters and 5 WTF titles.

Novak is getting the respect in most countries. It's only the butthurt western media that is still in disbelief at what he's doing and has to make the narrative about how he isn't loved. They did the same to Nadal when he won Wimbledon in 2008 and owned Federer at AO 2009: it started being about the beauty of their games and how Nadal wins in an ugly way. No mention of superior skills to adapt to other surfaces and exploiting the weaknesses of his opponents. It's hard to give credit when you can't accept reality.

Novak has put up with unfair criticism, disgusting crowds, arrogant opponents, the challenge of playing with 2 all time greats and has managed to rise above all of that to become one of the greatest tennis players in history. That is what matters and should be celebrated. :)

Another thread of Chico talking utter rubbish and whining like a little bitch .

I am tired of stories about Novak and lack of support, love, respect...

No, he dont need that. He need to be hungry, angry, willing to prove something... that drives him all these years, that makes him better player, and today the best player in the world.

Not easy to play against partisan crowd in important matches, but it is a point where he thinks - ok, you dont like me, you hate me, but I show you the way to respect me, and fear of me... it's the supersonic engine that propelled him to the very top.

No matter how this topic suits all tards who can stand Novak... I wish him to the end of career lack of support. After all said and done, many of them will say - hell of a player was Novak Djokovic.
