Tommy Haas in 2004

Thought it might be interesting to talk about Tommy, since he has so completely dropped out of the picture this past year due to injuries. One almost forgets that not so long ago Haas was a top player. A lot has happened over the course of the past year, with Roddick, Federer, Ferrero, and Coria maturing, and Schuettler taking over Haas' mantle as the leading German player.

The Australian has traditionally been Tommy's best major --- he has twice made the semis. How do you think he will do there?

Assuming Tommy can reach his previous form, which players will give him the most trouble in 2004?

Re: Tommy Haas in 2004

I dont think he'll do well at the AO. Too much time out, and his game is normally very error prone. He'll be lucky to get past the first round.

I think he may reach his real form during the year, but he'll certainly have to work hard for it and win some important matches to get confidence...

GO TOMMY!!!!!!!!!!! all players will be giving him problems this year. and if he gets back to the top of the game, which i really want him to do, and which he can do, he'll still have some trouble with the rest of the top 10 because they aren't the same players they were even a year ago. i wish Tommy the best of luck, it's good to see him back

Great to see him back. I don't think he'll go far at RO. He needs match toughness. He'll probably struggle with everybody.

Re: Tommy Haas in 2004

I'm just hoping that he'll actually play the Aussie Open.

As fleemke said, if/when Haas returns and stays healthy, the results will come. He's good enough to be top 10 again.

Djokovic // Del Potro // Paire // Thiem // M. Zverev // Youzhny
Coric // Khachanov // Donaldson // A. Zverev // Bublik
Ferrero // Rafter
