Bratislava CH Final: [Q]Gerasimov def. [4]Lacko 7-6(1) 7-6(5)

Wow, for me this is shocking. What a week for Gerasimov, all the way from qualifying to winning one of the strongest challenger tournaments in the circuit

Fairytale story, beat Weintraub, Rosol (!), Gombos, Copil and now Lacko

The most impressive stat would be that he played 8 tiebreaks (1 in QD, 7 on the MD) and won 7 of them (lost 1 against Gombos)

Incredible tournament for Gerasimov.
Unexpected because he came here after losing to Singh, Vardhan and Jahn.

Yeah, earlier he couldn't even win a futures in Minsk, and now he'll most probably break top 250 and play AO qualies, really interested in the continuity of his career. Will he give Ignatik hard time for the Belarussian #1. Will they motivate each other to become better players? With solid doubles players such as Mirnyi, Betov and Bury, they can become a pretty good Davis Cup team and be a stable Group I player.
