For guys who know how the entry to tournaments work...

...I have 2 questions.

1.If I'm going to go compete in a Futures tournament and I have no rank, do I just need to sign-in into the Qualies, and then I'm in the tournament?

2.What is a visa letter?

Thanks!

Re: For guys who know how the entry to tournaments work...

i know how it works on the Womens Circuit having done a bit of time there. This is how it works on WTA Womens Circuit.
You'll need some sort of WTA RANK, ITF Junior Rank, National rating, regional Jr rank(if U18).

BUT you'll could get in if there's any places left over after alternates ahead of you don't show up.

VISA are permits that get you into countries, without that you cant travel into that country unless you dont need one specifically for it.
Like it says on the Visa form, if you dont have a rank, you'll have to apply through your national association.

Oh, I see...so I could still get in, even though I only have a district rank...but if you're staying in the your country, do you need a visa letter?

Not in your own country looks like you've never travelled anywhere

you only need a VISA to enter foreign countries BUT only if you need a VISA to do so.
are u from Germany ??? if so as they are part of the EU you'll be exempt from Visa's throughout the EU and some others.

do a search which countries you dont need a VISA for.

I didnt think you needed a VISA to get into Canada, just your passport will do.

You do have a passport right ??? i heard only 10% of the US Population even have one.
But as you're in the US, there's plenty of USTA events, so you wont really need to go anywhere unlike most other countries.

and VISAs can be relatively expensive.

I don't think you need a passport to enter Canada. Here's the web site of the agency in Canada handling Customs so you can check it out.

http://www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca/menu-e.html

Before 9/11, most people from both countries can cross border with merely their driver's license. Also, you want to enter an event in Canada with prize money, it may be different from just crossing the border for sightseeing.

Thanks for the info, but how much does it cost to enter these tournaments? Maybe $30-40?
