Guga to retire at end of year?!!

Tim Henman says he may join Gustavo Kuerten in retiring by the end of the year if he can't correct his back injury, with Guga struggling after multiple hip surgeries ( from tennis-X)

tough for guga
great player guga & one sure to be remembered as a Roland Garros legend

Re: Guga to retire at end of year?!!

Sadly there is a bit of a difference here for Guga...he hasn't been able to play at all whereas Henman has. Guga's intentions aren't all that shocking to be honest. As I said in a previous thread a week or so back, I'd forgotten about him as a tennis player

I heard that he wouldn't retire if his results were good this year. Since it doesn't seem to be that way...

Bye, Guga! You will surely be missed.

I hope he won't retire, I've only saw him once, during Roland Garros 2004, the third round where he beat Roger Federer, he played so well there, I hope he can win some good matches. I also hope Tim Henman won't retire.

Things are not looking promising in terms of his results. Because of injuries it really isn't possible for him to play it out the way he would probably want.
