Great question, I always wondered that myself.
Considering that a huge
legend like Pancho Gonzalez came from a Mexican family, you'd think there would be substantial drive in the Mex. tennis confederation to draw on the inspiration from that, at least in part.
Santiago Gonzalez is the only Mexican player in the top 300 right now.
I really have no idea why.
