Federer at USO vs Djokovic at AO

Both have 5 titles at these slams. Which record is better/more impressive? Djokovic is unbeaten in AO SF and F whereas Fed lost a final to Del Potro and plenty of SFs. Could that be the deciding factor?

Moya's 5 Umags are more impressive.

Five in a row against five different USO champions is more impressive.

Re: Federer at USO vs Djokovic at AO

Djokovic's record is obviously more impressive. He beat great players, not Roddick, Hewiit and 35 y.o Agassi.

Re: Federer at USO vs Djokovic at AO

Federer has one more final and several more semis. It's not even a contest right now, but Djokovic will likely get a 6th title at the AO and surpass Federer.

I support Federer, Murray, Karlovic and some others.

Five consecutive wins vs five different opponents > Any Djokovic's achievement.

Re: Federer at USO vs Djokovic at AO

You do realise you're comparing Faker's achievement with Fed's best right? Objectively speaking it's Fed's for one simple reason - 5 consecutive on a fast HC. You're more vulnerable to a ballbasher on a fast HC than slow HC.

That said not taking anything away from croc but his achievement esp 2012 AO was incredible.

And last but not the least - USA > Aus

On Paes beating Djokovic at RG final -

Nobody remembers the final opponents from those 5 in a row he won, apart from hardcore Federer fans.
So it does not mean that much imo.
Djoker has plenty of time to get a 6th AO as well, as others have alluded to, so that will be an Open Era record.

Re: Federer at USO vs Djokovic at AO

Of course, Federer's. Novak only won on that joke of a surface called plexicushion. Federer's the only player to win in both Rebound Ace and Plexicushion. Novak's opponents consist of Dull and Chokeray...
