Andy Roddick bt Mardy Fish 6-3 6-7 7-6

Andy R

Can't criticise him, as sounds like Mardy served incredibly well and they are close friends and stuff...

Mardy can be pleased too that he improved on last week and took a big player close

I am BUOH, warrior of heart and soul.

Re: Andy Roddick bt Mardy Fish 6-3 6-7 7-6

from the score, he was lucky to pull that one out of his ass. Fish had like 6 more aces then roddick and was playing well..

Andy ! ask Gilbert back dammit !!, should have rolled this guy like murray did in san jose last week

Way too close but a good effort from Mardy

So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

I feel like this is worse for Andy than his loss to Murray.

Andy is struggling lately. The score should never have been close, considering the way Fish has been playing since his comeback.

Yeah. The person in the scoring thread who somehow had this on tv said Andy's play reminded him of the USO match, and we all know how passively he played there.

Very disappointing to see him continuing to play so passively even after the promise of aggressiveness.

Good for Mardy ot see him fight so hard, I hope it really bodes well and I hope his wrist recovers from the long match ok.

I hope part of the tight scoreline is Andy feeling bad for his buddy or something

Re: Andy Roddick bt Mardy Fish 6-3 6-7 7-6

If Fish had won, I wonder if MTF would have gone into an uproar.

I am a fan of Federer, Gasquet, Baghdatis, the long-deceased Safin, Youzhny, Nalbandian, Rochus, Tsonga, the sadly-departed Santoro, and good, hearty, competitive tennis matches. The quality of my life does not rest solely on who wins these matches. In fact, I would even go as far as to say that I can live quite happily after a player I like chokes, mugs, bashes, or otherwise succumbs to a loss.
