Re: Amazing Open Era Tennis Records and Streaks

Timely reminder that Federer is the GOAT?

Djokovic's consistency is so impressive. And he has so much upside to rise higher on those lists. By the time his career is finished, he will be second only to Federer in number of those categories while perhaps still having fewer grand slams than Sampras and Nadal.

Tennis will never be a low-brow.

Re: Amazing Open Era Tennis Records and Streaks

all things aside, this is simply insane:

All Four GS Finals Per Year
Roger Federer 2006
Roger Federer 2007
Roger Federer 2009
Rod Laver 1969

i can see many records to be broken, even if some seems unbreakable, but those 10 consecutive GS finals combined with 3 years of playing every single slam final is just out of this world result... and if it wasnt for Djokovic, Federer would have 4 consecutive years of playing every GS final(he return the "favor" in RG 2011 though)... its just insane.

Lendl was mr consistent until Federer arrived on scene, and right behind him come Djokovic. will we see this kind of consistency ever again? most likely, but i don't see anyone coming close to Djokovic in next 20+ years, let alone Federer... and i'm most likely wrong

You can think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to quit thinking

God is Love. To know Love is to know God. So ask yourself if you hold any hate for another in your heart how can you have room for Love, room for God

That depends on whether or not you count WO losses as ending the streak. Personally I don't, but the majority disagrees with me (I did a poll once).

Anyway, Borg won 49 straight in matches where he turned up to play.
